Regional Manager - Auckland

ANZIIF Diploma of Financial Services (Gen Ins)

I joined BWRS in early 2022 after more than 20 years in positions across the insurance broking sector. During this time, I have gained expertise working in the Commercial and Corporate, and SME markets. I have translated this experience into a high standard of service and technically lead solutions for my clients.

Not only am I able to deliver for my clients, I also extend this knowledge to my colleagues and team members providing results from leadership and mentorship.

My broad knowledge and enthusiastic approach to leadership goes hand in hand with the BWRS mentality of providing insurance service you can trust.

Practising Insurance Broker

I have been working in the insurance industry for over 20 years – originally in a call centre in Northampton, England. Since then I have worked for insurers as well as running my own insurance brokerage. My experience runs to both general insurance and life and health insurance.

I am passionate about giving our clients great advice and helping them when the need is greatest.

I enjoy most sports – playing and watching. I have recently taken up playing snooker again, and can also be found on the golf course, riding my push bike, my motorbike, and occasionally out on the boat in the beautiful waters of the Bay of Plenty.

Regional Manager - Hawkes Bay

I have enjoyed working in the General Insurance Industry for 30 odd years. Starting in Auckland with an Insurer I have then worked around New Zealand as a Commercial Broker for the last 20 years.

During that time, I have gained experience with all types of retail, trade, rural and professional businesses, farms and personal lines and really enjoy getting to know my clients and help them find solutions for their varied business insurance requirements.

Having a wide range of interests, including travel, construction, vehicles, farming and a multitude of sports, gives me a good appreciation and understanding of the variety and scope of activities our clients are involved with and the risks they face.

Regional Manager - Manawatu

Diploma in Insurance Broking (ANZIIF)

I have been in the Insurance Industry for close to a decade, working across both Aotearoa and Australia in broking and management roles.

I have a passion for the industry and love the varied nature of each day, no two risks are the same; and having the opportunity to share in a client’s business story is amazing.

I love working with teams: developing and empowering them to give their best to our clients and in turn grow their own passion for the industry and all the opportunities it can provide. To hear my staff talk with pride about their roles has been the best reward in my career.

Away from work I can be found playing soccer, getting out into the great outdoors, or enjoying a good beer.

Regional Manager - Southern

New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services – General Insurance (Level 5)

My first job in the insurance industry was over 30 years ago, working for insurance companies. I transitioned into Broking over 20 years ago and have since held a variety of senior roles within large international broking firms, predominantly in the specialised area of liability insurance. During this time, I have had the privilege of advising clients across the spectrum, from SME to large dual listed NZX/ASX companies. I am known within the industry for my expertise in complex liability risk, particularly in Construction liability and challenging Directors and Officers liability risks.

I am passionate about working with clients to help them understand where insurance plays a part in their overall risk transfer strategy, interpreting complex risk and insurance matters, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge through educational presentations to clients and industry groups.

I am also a people leader and I get the greatest satisfaction from helping individuals learn and grow their talents. I apply a similar mentality to leading people as I do to working with clients, that is, understanding what success looks like to them, and establishing how I can contribute to assisting them to overcome hurdles, to help them achieve their goals.

I stay current with my clients’ challenges and opportunities though memberships of industry specific groups, and I am also a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD).

Outside of work my kids keep me on my toes and I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially on or in the water; swimming, fishing, or when I get the opportunity to get out on a boat.
